The poet buys a night,

And a simple present

And then he dries  his  tears by a pillow

The warrior buys a sword,

And a war looks like a cat

And then he dies .

***

The lover buys a song,

And heavy  tears

Then he recognizes his stupidity

***

The King buys the lover's song,

the Warrior's war

and the poet's tears

then he invents a Home.

وطن / علي فرحان

يشتري الشاعر ليلا،

وفعلا مضارعا

ثم يجفف دموعه بالوسادة .

يشتري المحارب سيفا ،

وحربا تشبه قطة

ثم يموت .

يشتري العاشق أغنية ،

ودمعا مدرارا

ثم يفطن لبلاهته .

*  *  **

يشتري الملك

أغنية العاشق ، حرب المحارب ، ودمع الشاعر

ثم يخترع

وطنا .
