Pass on my gardens

Flowers are thirsty

The prophecy’s ring…

Is tightening over my finger

While the scent

Awakes in the wind’s bed

**

Pass on the farms

And the moon is tired

Looking for its night in Iraq

But Iraq is withered

حدائق عراقية / بشرى البستاني

مُرَّ على حدائقي،

فالوردُ ظمآنُ

وخاتمُ النبوّةْ

يضيقُ حول إصبعي

وفي سرير الريحِ

يستيقظُ ُ ريحانُ.

مُرَّ على البستانْ

فالبدرُ أسيانُ

يبحثُ عن ليلاهُ في العراقِ

والعراقُ ذبلانُ .
