Faithful with gorgeous tone

Isn’t all love in a tone..?

Isn’t all water in a drop..?

Isn’t all bread in a crumb..?

Do you remember the laugh of the fountain..

between the grass and the rock..?

And do you remember the shiver of the eyes..

between alertness and drunkenness..?

Yes, I do realize, I do remember,

and I do know what the palm trees say to Basra

يذوب الضوء في خديه

تهفو فوقه السُّمره

عراقيا

وفيا رائع النبره

أكلّ الحب في نبره ..؟

وكل الماء في قطره..؟

وكل الخبز في كسره..؟

أتذكر ضحكة الينبوع

بين العشب والصخره ..؟

وتذكر رجفة العينين

بين الصحو والسكره

نعم أدري وأذكرها

وأعرف ما يقول النخل للبصره
